This time, we'll introduce Duvel to you.
This beer which is representative of Belgian beer along with Chimay was called by a different name at first, but its name became "Duvel" which means "devil" because someone said "this is really the devil of beers".
This beer is pale gold coloured and there is creamy foam when you pour it into a glass. Citrus fragrance and a slight bitter sweet taste are features of this beer. In spite of the alcohol content of 8.5%, it is really easy to drink.
Every Belgian beer has a special glass. Of course, Duvel is no exception.
Interestingly, there is a scratch at the bottom of Duvel glasses and that makes it easier to make more head on your beer.
If I have a chance, I hope to drink Duvel in special glass.
We think it is easier for us to buy Duvel than Chimay Blue. Of course, we can buy it at Odakyu department store in Machida. So if you are interested in this beer, please try it.
前回に引き続き、今回もお勧めビールの紹介です。
今回のビールはDUVEL(デュベル)です。
シメイと並んでベルギービールを代表するこのビールは、造られ始めた当初は別の名前だったそうですが、誰かが「これはまさに悪魔のビールだ」と言ったのをきっかけに、悪魔を意味するDUVELという名前に変わったそうです。
淡い金色をしていて、グラスに注ぐとクリーミーな泡が立ちます。
柑橘系の香りと控えめな甘みと程よい苦みが味わいの特徴で、8.5%もアルコール度数があるにもかかわらず非常に飲みやすいビールです。
また、ベルギービールは銘柄毎に専用のグラスがあり、もちろんデュベルも例外ではありません。
興味深いことに、デュベルのグラスの底には引っ掻いたようなキズが付けられていて、これによりグラスに注いだときの泡立ちが良くなるそうです。
機会があれば専用グラスに注いだデュベルを飲んでみたいですね...
デュベルはシメイブルー以上に入手が容易なビールだと思います。
